Even Square Trucks Look Good
In a previous post, I was calling for some more roundness to come back in pickup design language. Well, I just wanted to point out that more square looking trucks are pretty cool too. I saw a rat rod, flat black Chevy straight six slammed with red steelies a few days ago on Craigslist for 1500 bucks. I wanted it so bad. I know it wouldn’t be that powerful, but for my application, I don’t really need a V8 tow capacity. Hell, the heaviest thing I would be towing in the near future would be a 280zx and that’s only 2800 lbs. Anyway about this picture, it’s very similar to the truck I wanted in that nothing special was really done. It’s not over the top. It’s simply lowered and with nice wheels. Dog dish rims which look awesome. Sometimes I get carried away with trying to do a million things to my cars, and somebody has to knock some sense into me and show me the humbleness of their builds. Even look at the engine. There’s no dual Holley setup or aluminum radiator or excessive chrome. It’s a base engine that pops. Sometimes it’s just the right amount of detailing and the delicate choice of colors to make it look like a “jewelry box” like John calls engine bays.
